Inspired by classic indie pop-rock/post-punk revival bands from the U.K and the States, The Common View burst onto the Leeds music scene in late 2018.
This young five-piece creates its own style by utilising a mix of Ska rhythms and relentless guitar progressions provided by Guitarists Jose and Dom, alongside Joe’s charming, melodic bass-lines which are brought together by the upbeat drumming of Will. Dom's harmonic vocals deliver cutting messages, commenting on the issues of everyday life and society, painting the band as not only seasoned romantics, but also as advocates for social justice, equality and human rights.
The Common View are always working on new material, with new releases always imminent. The release of the bands most recent EP, If Not Now, When?, has been one of the highlights of what has been a highly successful 2019 for the band. Coupled with performances in multiple cities throughout the UK and a notable performance at the O2 Academy in Leeds, the band are looking forward to the 2020 and the release of their second studio-recorded album.
